The June 2012 LSAT scores / results are scheduled to be released via email by Friday, July 6, 2012, so you'll have to wait for your LSAT score.
However, the scores usually come out a bit earlier than scheduled.
Let's look at the trend over the past several years (click to enlarge):
LSAC gave themselves a 21-day period to grade June tests from 2005-2010, then gave themselves a 23-day period in 2011.
Now, in 2012, they're giving themselves a 25-day period to grade the June LSAT. This suggests that it may take even longer than the 21 days for the June 2011 LSAT.
It's difficult to make a specific prediction given this change. However, the fact that they're allowing more time to get scores ready may mean waiting a few more days.
I predict that June 2012 LSAT scores will be released on Tuesday, July 3, or Thursday, July 5.
(I would've included Wednesday, July 4, in my prediction, but I haven't ever seen LSAC release scores on a major holiday.)
LSAC gave themselves a 25-day period to grade the February LSAT this year, yet took 24 days to grade them (scores came out only 1 day early.) I'm learning towards Thursday, July 5 for this one.
"But at what time specifically do scores come on score release days? I need to know when to constantly refresh my email / LSAC account!"
In batches over the course of several hours. Likely starting late in the day (Eastern Time).
No one knows how the batches are organized, if at all.
The batches do not seem to be organized in any of these ways:
alphabetical/regional/high-to-low scores/low-to-high scores/test center #, etc.

cool! for me, i got two reading sections right from the beginning. S1 and S2 were both RC haha.. brutal! the second reading section had some court case about shelly vs. something? (don't remember) and it was so hard... game was easy although i know that i always make mistakes. the first lr was easy but the second lr was pretty hard for me. i barely had time to review my answers. (if any of these info would get me into trouble, please let me know, i'll delete it haha) what did everybody else think???
DeleteI also had 2 RC to start off. One of them was terribly written. The passages were extremely dense, way more challenging than any RC section i've written before. RC is usually my best section, -1 or -2 at most. Easily -5 or -6 on that section on this LSAT. I knew something was very very wrong when I had 2 sections of 4 answers in a row, and only like 1 E in the entire RC section. I concur, the first LR was easy, the 2nd was quite hard. Quite a few VERY ambiguous answer choices in the later questions.
ReplyDeleteI had 3 LR (sections 1, 2, and 4)-- I found the first one pretty manageable and then the second one was WEIRD (a bunch of question types you don't usually see), the third one I found really difficult, though "standard" in terms of question types, frequency, etc. the RC wasn't awful but one of the earlier passages was quite dense so I found myself running out of time at the end and had to skim the last passage to get to the questions. the LG seemed pretty normal in terms of content, some tricky stuff but nothing I haven't seen in my prep. hoping there's a generous curve!!

urrrgh i guess i'm relieved that the RC wasn't easy for other people... i just hope that the more difficult reading section i got with the court case passage was an experimental section :( yea i hope the curve is generous.. -12/-13 for 170 hopefully!!

DeleteThe 2nd RC (court case) was definitely the experimental one. Unfortunately I didn't finish the 1st RC - anyone have the same experience? Found it was much harder to weed through vs. practice.
DeleteIt wendt (get it?) better than I originally thought. I was much more prepared than the majority of test takes, thanks Steve! I had two Reading Comprehension sections, one of which had two sections with 8 questions. Have to assume thats the one, which in hindsight is probably for the best. I know it is weird and random, but did the extra space on the Logic Games screw anybody else up? By no means was have all of the two questions on two pages tragic, but it definitely threw my rhythm the first two games. I find that very funny how something that trivial can have an impact. Cannot thank you enough Steve, you have a loyal advocate for life!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the extra space also threw me off. I appreciated the extra space but usually all the questions for that game are on the same page. Today it was the rules and 1 question on one page and the rest on the next. I had to spread open my book which I didn't appreciate because the desk was small and I felt uncomfortable because of the unfamiliar format. Oh well, good thing is I feel confident :)

DeleteI found having the games on one page and the questions/answers on a different page very distracting. It threw me off big time. I always have three games complete with -1 for the most, this time I could hardly finish the third game. I was super upset about that. I felt like my second RC had to be the experimental. The RC seemed too easy, that I hope I didn't make simple mistakes.
Deletefor some reason the extra room for games completely threw me off and I somehow bombed games even though I'm barely ever more than -2 on games. This was definitely a weird lsat in a few ways. 2 reading comps never helps but it is pretty obvious that the experimental was the one with two 8 question passages which i'm probably thankful for. Maybe some agree but I definitely think this was harder then average, could have just been test day conditions that screwed me up though i guess.
ReplyDeleteThe two pages per game threw me off also, especially considering we had small desks at my testing center. I had to frequently turn back and forth between the two pages. Also noticed that there were not many deductions that could be made on the games. LR sections had some ambigious questions.

I hope the experimental was the first games section, I had to skip one game completely, and barely finished 3 games. The two page format was terrible!! I usually slam the RC section, under time and maybe -2, and on this test I missed an entire passage. Definitely debating canceling my score.

Partly because that was my second RC section, and I figured the first one was too easy so this had to be the real one which was going to destroy me! Ugh! But yeah, that one was nasty. It did this good think, but the wrong way, and the precedent is all messed up, and it infringes on bla bla bla, but still is applicable based on bla bla...which I kinda got since I've read a bit about the 14th, but the guy still lost me. Deleteooo this is the test I took too. section 1 was a breeze for me, what I got stuck on was the LG the new format really threw me off! Yea, this included the game with the lab assistants being assigned to morning or afternoon presentations(?) on W T F. At first I was a bit concerned as to how to set it up until I saw how the q1 had it set up by day after that it was kind of second nature. I think the timed practice tests paid off. Thanks Steve for your guidance on making a schedule on retaking the test!

I had 3 LR sections (and was trying to figure out which one was experimental, the first two seemed pretty easy, the 3rd one just felt long) and I’m trying to remember if the Red Panda question was in the LR section that seemed really off. I think there was one LR that seemed to just have more parallel reasoning than normal.
DeleteI did so many practice tests (some of which actually had 2-question passage-snippets in LR) so I didn't even know that a 2-Q passage was supposed to be something unusual. If I had it, I wouldn't remember unless you can recall the topic (I tend to remember the topics better than the type of problem.) I had 2 LR's only. RC was my experimental.

DeleteThe fact that there were two reading comprehension sections back to back for me totally ruined the second one, which unfortunately was not the experimental. I definitely panicked during it because RCs make me so tired and are my worst section. I managed to finish but I was rushed. Hopefully this test will be curved in such a way that the 5-6 that I missed on that section won't completely screw me over. The other sections for me were super easy so hopefully I missed almost none on those and I can still get over my old score since this is a retake...I freaked out during RC the first time I took it too, so I guess that will balance out.

It just seemed that most ppl had section 2 as exp and i was trying to extrapolate. Anyway, if your LR2 had the two occurrences of 1passage/2questions then LR2 was your experimental. if you never saw that, then we had different tests.

The second RC had a passage about fMRI/psychology/sections of the brain lighting up with oxygen. Can anyone confirm if this was the experimental? I had been scoring 170+ on the last 6 tests I took but I always got through the LG, on the actual LSAT I totally panicked on the LG and guessed on at least 7 because of the extra pages (so silly, I know). Now I'm seriously considering cancelling my score...

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember the question about training a dog using treats? It was the last question on one of the LR sections. I was running out of time so I filled in answers when 5 minutes were called. I started reading the question though and when I went to change the answer I had already filled in, time ran out! So basically, I knew the answer but did not have time to fill it in! I don't think I did well on that section, does anyone know if it was experimental?
ReplyDeleteYou have some moral conviction, my friend. anyone else would have just filled in the bubble during his next section. But I believe karma served you, because I have no recollection of that question so it may have been experimental. Which section of the test was it?
DeleteMy test started out with two RC sections, followed by a LR, LG, and then an LR. I thought it kind of sucked that my two RCs were in the beginning, but towards the end of the test I was glad like none other because the stupid desks we were sitting in were honestly built for 2nd graders and my neck and back was hurting so much from crouching in the desk trying to read the stupid test phamplet. I finished two games in the LG (not so good at those) and had to guess on a couple of questions on the other sections, but hopefully I did pretty well.
ReplyDeleteFor people who guessed on questions, don't panic. Although you shouldn't depend too much on guessing, in my first LSAT exam, I literally guessed on over 40% of the test (had about one month to study because I decided to take the test last minute) and still ended up with a 153, which I thought (by my standards) was pretty damn impressive for the amount of studying that I did.
Thanks for the post! I had 2 LGs... One pretty basic and routine.. one I had no clue.. turns out the hard one was scored.. Since I thought it was experimental I did not put in full effort and defintely just guessed on most.. Oh well.. It was my first test.. Hope your studying paid off this time and you get a higher score!

ReplyDeleteFor RC LR LR LG LR...what are we thinking was experimental? I've seen section 2 and section 5...would it be rare for them to put experimental at the very last section?
ReplyDeleteIt has either never happened or happened once (october '11). cuz that was the first/only test to have an exp not in the first 3 sections. However, wouldn't surprise me it lsac did that
DeleteI had that test. I honestly feel like 5 might have been experimental (for me, at least). That section took me a little longer to decipher the answer choices since it seemed like the makers started to shift their conventional wording somewhat. I took a full lsat practice exam mon-fri everyday for a month prior, and from those tests, I feel like the answer wording almost becomes predictable. But when I got to the 3rd LR, I was like, Ha! Very clever LSAC. (Or I could be wrong and was just drained by that point. I don’t want to “take for granted that no other possible explanation for that occurrence could exist.” Lol) But from what I’ve been reading from other posts that had this same test setup, it seems like lsac might have even switched up the experimental sections among 2/3/5 for those that had this very same section setup.

ReplyDeletea month is so long. I had LR,RC,RC,LR,LG. I thought the real reading comp seemed easier (dig books), the second LR easier and the games were pretty easy (answered 20/23 confidently) but now I am going over each section in my mind nonstop. Working out the worst and best case scenario's. THinking about the first LR section and how I thought it was harder and I was more uncertain during it. I don't know why that LR reasoning section seemed harder, I even forget what was in it but the 2nd (ninjas and such) seemed much easier.....

But now I am worried because the 1st LR section seemed a lot harder to me. I generally forget what was on it and am worried that I did terrible on it. I think I did quite well in the RC, LR2 and LG but that first LR section is freaking me out now. SO stressed out. Thanks a lot post test anxiety.
