December 2013 LSAT Score Release Dates

LSAT Blog December 2013 LSAT Score Release Dates
Good luck to everyone taking the December 2013 LSAT!

The December 2013 LSAT scores / results are scheduled to be released via email by Monday, January 6, 2014, so you'll have to wait for your LSAT score.

However, the scores usually come out a bit earlier than scheduled.

Let's look at the trend over the past several years (click to enlarge):

I've never heard of them coming back on the scheduled release date itself. As you can see, LSAC is taking longer and longer to release December LSAT scores. I believe that Thursday, January 2, and Friday, January 3, are the most likely score release dates based on the above.

"But at what time specifically do scores come on score release days? I need to know when to constantly refresh my email / LSAC account!"

In batches over the course of several hours. Likely starting late in the day (Eastern Time).

No one knows how the batches are organized, if at all.

The batches do not seem to be organized in any of these ways:

alphabetical/regional/high-to-low scores/low-to-high scores/test center #, etc.

Wish everyone all the best!

Please feel free to vent and discuss your general thoughts on the exam in the comments, but no specifics about particular questions themselves, please. (LSAC doesn't permit such discussion.)

  1. If many test centers were postponed due to weather cancellations, does that affect the score release date?

    1. I hear you, I am starting to think it is going to be tomorrow. This is crap, considering a lot of the December LSATs before this have had release dates 10 days before LSAC's quoted date of score release. Not that any of it will matter because I probably bombed it..

      Delete
    2. Yeah, but remember, many people were unable to take it due to whether, and LSAC had to make alternative arrangements, whatever those were, so, wouldn't be surprised if the scores were released even after January 6th, but sooner would be better.

      Delete
    3. got an email from LSAC sayin it would be jan 6th after 10 am eastern time....but maybe that is just the official time!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Agreed. At least one of the make up tests was on Dec 21 and they were closed from Dec 24 - Jan 1.... Hopefully they'll be released soon though! This anxiety does NOT need to last through the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Only problem I see is that in the past when there was some intervening whether issue or whatever, the scores were released a day after the scheduled date. And if people were making tests up as late as Dec. 21, days before Christmas, who knows. Don't know if this is unprecedented, but I have to think it will affect the score release date. Hopefully not.

      Delete
  42. in a different forum someone said... in 21011, DEC LSAT scores were sent out at 7pm eastern time... so ... the wait is not over i guess

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think basic trends tell us it should be today or tomorrow. The LSAT does what it wants. They will release them at 7 tonight or 10:00 next Friday if they damn well please. I think one section of tests is not enough to delay the group, but who knows?

  52. Do they even send the out before noon (EASTERN)?

  53. I seriously doubt the scores are coming today. Most likely tomorrow, but might even be late due to people having delayed tests which seems unusual. Must admit it has been fun getting the excitement and anticipation going.

  54. They will not be posted today for a number of reasons: 1) as far as I can tell, they have never posted on the day after coming back from a vacation for December; 2) they will need to make sure the scores from December 21st are all done; 3) the impending snow may cause problems; 4) in the forums I've seen, grey has turned on at some point in some place before 3:00 pm at the latest even though they will be sent out hours later. Unfortunately, I think the score will be posted on Monday or perhaps Tuesday depending on the storm.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Um... I'm pretty sure even your first reason is incorrect. According to this blog post within the image at the top, scores were released on January 2, 2013 (the day after the New Years holiday).

  105. Does anyone from Ontario know the answer to this: I just got my Dec score and want to re-write. I already registered just in case. Does OLSAS send my score out even though they know i will be re-writing. And if they do, is it possible to get accepted or do the schools wait for the next score?
    Thanks!!

    1. Law schools see all your LSAT results, and they know you have signed up for the next exam. So, they will wait for your next exam's result before evaluating your application.

  106. I was a wreck going into the exam, I had been scoring avg of 163, highest I ever got was a 169 in practice. The week before the exam I was just done with it, the night before i couldn't sleep. Ironic in that I thought I had done terrible for the Logic Games and only missed two. What did me in was the Reading Comprehension, I knew that last five questions were a disaster - it was because I just got lost in the reading and then snapped out of it when they said final five minutes. In any event, a 161, which I was hoping was just a few points more. Now we go from here.

  107. Steve,
I am an Ontario resident who has recently completed an English graduate degree, and am having a very hard time with the LSAT. To be competitive, I need to do very well on this test; I went to a military university for my BA, so my grades are not as high as those of other applicants. I have written the LSAT 3 times now- the first two times I got a 148, and the most recent I got a 145. Admittedly, I did not study at all going into the first two LSATs, as I was still in grad school trying to tackle papers and my TA position. The third, time, however, which was Dec 2013, I did practice for the LSAT. I read the powerscore bibles on logic games and logical reasoning (I do not have the reading comprehension one, and used a small Kaplan book summary for this section). I completed my master's degree in sept, and procrastinated studying. I did, however, study a lot for one month prior to the Dec exam, putting in 12 hour study days, doing both sections and full tests. I also timed individual questions to see where my problems were (for logical reasoning), and saw that the only one taking me over 1.45 mins was generally the parallel reasoning and sometimes the principle questions, so I decided I would skip and go back to those for the test. I cannot break my 148 and would really like to know what you would suggest? Should I do your 1month daily schedule or would you say I am past that, given how much exposure I have had to the test? I have gone through about 30 tests so far. Please Help!

    1. Me again- I should have mentioned, I plan to take the test again this Feb. I don't want to give up on my dream. I know I would be successful once in law school, I just need to figure this test out!

      Delete
    2. If I were you, I wouldn't take the test again in Feb. You have basically a month to study and to improve your score, and I hate to break it to you, but one month is not enough time if you want to increase your score SIGNIFICANTLY. Sign up for a test prep program or figure out how to attack the questions with new strategies. Take more practice exams and go back to to review your incorrect answers and really…and I mean…REALLY analyze why you answered the questions incorrectly, and make sure not to repeat the same mistakes. Once you have done all this, take the exam again in June.
