LSAT Blog February 2014 LSAT Questions Answers
The February 2014 LSAT is coming up soon, and I know many of you are planning to take it.

What questions do you have about studying for the LSAT?

This LSAT Blog post is a place where you can leave comments and answer each others' questions about anything related to LSAT studying and law school admissions.

(If you're looking for general advice on improving your Logic GamesLogical Reasoning, or Reading Comprehension abilities, please note that I've already written plenty of blog posts on these topics. I also have plenty of advice in my LSAT study schedules.)

Keep at it. The February 2014 LSAT will be here before you know it!

  1. This blog is fantastic. I went from missing almost half of the logic game section to consistently missing only 1 or 0 with the help of the video guides. Other than that, though, I have been struggling with flat or even declining performance in other sections. :( My overall score is apparently plateauing with only a week left. My poor family and friends have had to bear my insane (and futile) obsessiveness and some of my frustration when it bubbles up.

  3. Hi Steve, I wanted to ask if it would be a good idea to take the exam next week.

Just finished PT71. Got 173... -1 on LR, -3 on LG, and -6 on RC... I usually get -0~-2 on RC's but I totally messed up this one. I won't be applying to law schools in the next two years since I will be working. I am a graduating senior at college and can devote most of my time for lsat prep till June.

I definitely want to improve my LG and review RC (for the past month I've focused mostly on LR and LG and I wonder if that affected my performance on RC today). Do you think I should take the test in june rather than next week? I took the real lsat once and canceled the score.

    1. Just for clarification, I already took most of the old PT's and all the recent ones (post-60). Although what screwed me up today was RC, my main concern is rather on improving LG, which I think is possible with more practice (currently I consistently get 1~3 questions wrong on LG). I could still take both February and June exam, but then June exam will be my last chance. On the other hand, if I choose to take June and October exam, the concern is that I will be working full-time starting July, although it will still be very possible to devote much time on lsat prep.

  4. Any thoughts about the possibility of test centers closing because of weather in the NY Metro area? I'm scheduled to take the test at Pace on Saturday, and will be traveling via public transit. How much snow does it usually take to close NY centers?

  5. I’m starting to get cold feet and it’s mostly because my scores are not where I want them to be. I have consistently scored in the high 130’s with my highest score being a 142. I have a strong GPA so the good thing is that I only need to score a 150 to get into the law school of my choice. I have not taken the LSAT yet and I have only taken four practice tests so far. I would hate to push it back considering that I’m turning 30 this year but it wouldn’t be the end of the world either.

  6. If you have never gotten the score you need, or even close to it you need to postpone. You'll probably do great if you do more than 4 practice tests. (4 practice tests is nowhere near close to how much you should be studying) - unless you have done a lot of individual sections. Even then, just postpone and destroy the next lsat. : )

  7. i just cancelled my lsat for feb 8. i realized that i am not ready. i spoke with the lsac folk and she indicated that when you take the test and cancel the score at the site, the colleges know that and realize you've been exposed to the test. this can be a disadvantage (probably not much). i still decided to put in four months of study time and then take it in june.

  8. Sorry, that one was real. Third and Fourth games were both tough.

I had LR, RC, LR, LG, LR. Anyone else have this? Which LR was exp?

    1. I had the same.

    2. I had this as well.
I really hope the third LR (#5) was experimental, but I highly doubt it. The first and second LR's (#1 and #3) were just too easy to both be real. The first was the easiest in my opinion, so with any luck the second (#3) was experimental.
Regardless, the LG was too hard for me to get my target score. Bummer.

  9. I think the third section was the experimental. It just felt too easy- by contrast, the fifth section was annoyingly tricky after the harder than usual LG section before it. I may cancel : (
