December 2011 LSAT Questions / Answers

December 2011 LSAT Questions AnswersThe December 2011 LSAT might seem far off, but it'll be here before you know it. What would you like to see on the blog between now and then?

Please leave your questions for me (and for each other) in the comments, I'll do my best to answer as many of your questions as possible between now and December.

Also, if you're looking for general advice on improving in Logic Games, Logical Reasoning, or Reading Comprehension, please note that I've already written plenty of blog posts on these topics and have integrated them into my LSAT study schedules.

Quick request: please leave a name rather than posting as "Anonymous." It makes it easier for everyone to respond to specific comments. Thanks!

  3. Hi Steve!!

I'm finding through my review of a PT yesterday that I am confusing correlations with causation, can you maybe give language that clearly identify the separation between the two, and ways to see the distinct nature more clearly?

  4. Do you have any suggestions for test retakers who have already solved all of the prep tests? is it wise to do the tests over again?

Also, what do you think is the best way to work with time on RC? I want to be able to solve the RC section faster, but I'm not sure how I can practice that. Thanks!!

  5. Your blog is fantastic. Please post tips on how to increase speed with logic games (besides just practicing?) It takes me about 15 minutes to complete a set! Thanks!

  6. Please help with complex logic games diagramming. I also need help with Logic Reasoning, specifically with must be false and could be false questions. Thanks so much!

  7. I would really love ways to increase time while maintaining accuracy, especially for the Logic Games. I am studying using the Power Score Bibles, and it seems they only suggest not attempting all the questions. I want to make between 170 and 180, so it seems imperative that I attempt every question. Any advice on that would be great. If you have already written a post on this, great! Just refer us to it again. My time could most improve with Logic Games. I really want to complete all four in a section, but I am tempted to only attempt three.

  8. In the interest of setting a strong foundation I am currently taking the Kaplan online class AND have LG and LR Bibles as well as the latest Princeton Review book...My target date and score: June 2012 LSAT, 164. What is the benefit of using all the "mastery" material from the aforementioned in One Big Enchilada prep schedule (e.g. utilizing all the time tested approaches together)? At that rate i would take three diagnostic tests for the first two months and increasing with weekly Kaplan Endurance exams (and PTs 59-64) thereafter...

  11. hi steve,
i took the october test in india and cancelled as i was unwell and knew it hadn't gone well. but the test felt super hard - are undisclosed tests usually harder? do they adjust the curve accordingly?
also, i've heard that games are getting easier and RC is getting harder, but the games section on the october test was super hard! any tips to improve timing on games?
    thanks so much!

  12. @ngogirl - Great question!

Correlation is simply when two things are related, like ice cream sales and crimes of passion. Causation is when one thing *causes* another - such as the fact that hot weather causes both ice cream sales to increase and crimes of passion to increase. Language is not the issue when it comes to understanding the difference - it's a matter of parsing out the logical relationships between them.

  13. @Anonymous 10/14 - Absolutely - see this post on how to study for an LSAT retake. Here are some tips on Reading Comprehension.

  14. @Anonymous 10/18 - A lot of those approaches are contradictory, and some of the techniques / content in those books is questionable. I'd recommend using these LSAT prep materials.

  15. @Jen S. I have plenty of posts about diagramming on Logic Games - they're linked above within the blog post.

@Carly - do practice tests at that time of day so that you adjust your eating schedule accordingly. You don't want to be suffering from a post-lunch siesta slump during the exam!

@Allie - Sorry to hear it didn't go well. Undisclosed exams aren't usually harder. Regardless, don't worry about it - the curve is adjusted accordingly. I have plenty of blog posts about timing on LG - they're linked within this blog post.
